Short summary
Everyone understands we have emotions but none of us agree on what they are. Some think it is what makes us humans, while others would rather get rid of them all together. In a time where mental health, psychology, and intelligence is entering into the conversation, it's important that we take the time to truly examine what emotions really are, why they were evolved, how they help or harm us, and what role they will play in society moving forward.

Discussion Materials
The neuroscientist for this week will be Lisa Feldman Berrett. She is the author of How Emotions are Made and is a leading voice in the field.
