Podcast discussion night - Huberman Lab x Dr. Kentaro Fujita
โ€Œ
You know the thing you should do.
The email. The workout. The project. The book you keep restarting. The life admin that somehow becomes strangely heavy.
This meetup is built around Huberman Lab episode 280: "Master Self Control & Overcome Procrastination" with Dr. Kentaro Fujita.
But this is not a productivity-hack morning.
I am more interested in the human version: why we stall, why willpower fails, why burnout makes simple tasks feel impossible, and whether self-control is less about fighting yourself and more about understanding what you are actually avoiding.
โ€Œ
The question sitting over the room
โ€Œ
When you procrastinate, are you being lazy - or is some part of you avoiding pain, boredom, uncertainty, shame, failure, or the first ugly version of the work?
โ€Œ
A few questions already sitting in my head
โ€Œ
- Is forcing yourself actually the wrong model?
- What are we really avoiding when we delay?
- When is patience wisdom, and when is it just fear in nicer clothes?
- What if the problem is not your discipline, but that your system is cooked?
- Why is the first bad version of the work so hard to survive?
- Do you need a bigger reason, or just a smaller next step?

Ideal version: listen to the full episode.
Realistic version: listen to any 30-60 minute section that catches your attention.
Minimum version: come with one real procrastination / self-control problem from your own life.
โ€Œ
How the morning will feel
โ€Œ
We will start with one simple question:
"What is one thing you keep not doing - and what excuse do you usually give yourself?"
Then we will use the episode as a backbone, but not as a lecture. We will move between the science, the ideas, and real examples from our own lives.
No one has to confess their deepest dysfunction. You can talk about email if that is what is real. Email ruins lives too.

Small room on purpose.
This topic gets worse when people perform discipline and better when people are honest.

Small note
โ€Œ
If you did not listen to the whole podcast, come anyway.
The best version of this room is not "who took the most notes." It is people using the episode to understand one real pattern in their own life.
