Now we go a little more old-school and chaotic: Anton's Pasta Bar in Burnaby.
Anton's is not a fancy Italian night. This is not delicate plating, candlelight, and everyone pretending they know regional pasta shapes.
This is giant portions, red-sauce comfort, loud packed-room energy, leftovers, and the very specific joy of looking at a plate and thinking: "That is unreasonable."
Good.
That is the point.
This one is for people who want a casual Saturday dinner with a small group, big pasta, and no food-critic cosplay.
Important wait / line note
Anton's does not take reservations.
We have to show up in person and wait in line.
Expect a 20-30 minute wait, possibly more if it's busy.
Do not RSVP unless you are okay with waiting outside for a bit and keeping the mood easy while we wait.
If standing in a line for pasta sounds spiritually unacceptable to you, this is not your night.
How the evening will go
We'll meet outside Anton's at 6:00 PM, get in line together, and wait for a table.
Once we're seated, everyone orders and pays for their own food.
This is a small-table night, not a giant banquet. Come ready to be flexible, friendly, and normal about the fact that restaurants are restaurants and tables happen when they happen.

Price note
Everyone pays their own bill.
Anton's is known for big portions, so the value is usually in the "I have tomorrow's lunch now" zone.
Still, check the menu/prices yourself before coming if budget matters.
