🎲🕵️‍♂️ Codenames Board Game Night — Pizza & One-Word Clues

Important: This is not a free event. This is a restaurant outing, and everyone is expected to order food and/or drinks roughly equivalent to a small meal, with 18% automatic gratuity added for groups of 6+.

Short summary
Codenames is one of those games that sounds simple until someone says one word with total confidence and accidentally leads their team directly into disaster.
This is a Friday night built around Codenames: word association, suspicious logic, quiet panic, overconfident clue-giving, and the strange pleasure of realizing your friend’s brain works nothing like yours.
No general board-game chaos this time. No 40-page rulebook. No six-hour campaign.
Just Codenames, food, drinks, and the kind of team guessing where everyone insists their terrible guess made perfect sense.

The plan
We’ll meet at 6:30 PM, settle in with food and drinks, and play Codenames as the main game for the evening.
If we have enough people, we can rotate teams or split into two rounds. Beginners are completely welcome. The rules are easy to learn, and the fun is mostly in watching everyone interpret the same clue in wildly different ways.

The vibe
Casual, social, and beginner-friendly.
Come if you like word games, light strategy, team guessing, pizza, or the very specific comedy of someone giving a clue that somehow makes sense to exactly one person at the table.
You do not need to know the game beforehand. We’ll explain it quickly and then let the mistakes teach the rest.

Please arrive on time and update your RSVP if your plans change. Restaurants can only hold group tables for so long, and Codenames is much easier to start when the spies are actually in the room.
