🌾🧱 Settlers of Catan Board Game Night — Pizza, Trades, and Betrayal

Important: This is not a free event. This is a restaurant outing, and everyone is expected to order food and/or drinks roughly equivalent to a small meal, with 18% automatic gratuity added for groups of 6+.

Short summary
Settlers of Catan is a game about building roads, collecting sheep, negotiating politely, and then immediately refusing to trade with the person who helped you ten minutes ago.
This is a Friday night built around Catan: resource gathering, suspicious bargains, unlucky dice rolls, blocked roads, quiet grudges, and the ancient human question of whether anyone truly has wood for sheep.
No general board-game night this time. No giant menu of games. No chaos disguised as variety.
Just Catan, pizza, drinks, and the slow realization that “friendly strategy game” still leaves plenty of room for betrayal.

The plan
We’ll meet at 7:00 PM, settle in with food and drinks, and play Settlers of Catan as the main game for the evening.
The base game works best with 3–4 players, so if enough people come, we’ll split into two tables. If Ludica has the 5–6 player expansion available, one table may be able to handle 5 or 6 players, but the cleanest version is usually two smaller games.
Beginners are welcome. You do not need to be a Catan expert. We’ll explain the rules, help with the first few turns, and then let the dice create the emotional damage.

The vibe
Casual, social, and beginner-friendly, but a little strategic. Come if you like trading games, light strategy, resource management, pizza, or watching someone slowly realize they built their entire civilization next to numbers that never roll.
You do not need to know the game beforehand. Just be ready to negotiate, adapt, and accept that the robber may eventually become personal.

Please arrive on time and update your RSVP if your plans change. Catan works best when the table numbers are reasonably balanced, and restaurants can only hold group tables for so long.
