Outdoor social walk - Capilano River Regional Park / Cleveland Dam.
Short summary
Not every Saturday needs to be a performance of productivity.
Sometimes the better move is much simpler:
Go north.
Stand near water.
Walk through trees.
Talk to people who are also trying to have a real weekend.
We’ll meet at Cleveland Dam and walk together through the park around the dam and forest, with conversation along the way.
This is not an extreme-adventure meetup.
Not a fitness challenge.
Not a “prove you own technical hiking pants” situation.
Just an approachable outdoor Curiosity Club walk: views, forest air, moving conversation, and a little distance from the usual city noise.
A few questions already sitting in my head

• “Why do some conversations get easier when people are walking?”
• “What does being near water do to the mood of a group?”
• “When was the last time your weekend felt like it had actual space in it?”
• “Do we go outside to escape the city, or to remember how to live in it better?”
• “Why does a forest make small talk feel slightly less fake?”

How the afternoon will go
We’ll meet at the Cleveland Dam parking lot, by the dam viewpoint, at 4:00 PM.
From there, we’ll walk together through the park around the dam and forest.
The pace will be social and conversational, not athletic. People can talk, pause, look around, and let the walk be the thing.
No forced icebreakers.
No networking energy.
No turning nature into content.
Just a good outdoor hang with enough movement to make the conversation feel less stiff.
Bring / weather note
Bring water.
Wear comfortable walking shoes.
Bring a layer - North Vancouver likes to remind people that weather has range.
This event goes ahead in light rain, but may be changed if the weather looks unsafe.
