Details

We're excited to announce our next event! We have two great speakers who will be sharing practical guidance from their real life experiences implementing a microservices architecture.

Pooya Paridel, realtor.com
"Consuming Microservices in an Easy Way"

My team is a consumer of most of our company's microservices and our biggest goal was to write our code in a readable maintainable way. In this presentation, I'll show where we started, how our code looks like and how we are doing resilience and transient-fault-handling.

Doug Janzen, Tasktop
"Making the Leap From Monolith to Microservices"

As many of the world’s large companies make the transition to the cloud, application developers must adopt software delivery methods that support them in the different stages along that journey. While some companies still demand quarterly releases of on-premise applications, others are either moving to the cloud or using both on-premise and cloud at the same time. This talk presents lessons learned while making the transition from building an on-premise, monolithic application to building a new product deployed to the cloud as microservices. Topics include continuous delivery, multi-tenancy, scalable storage, real-time monitoring, and more.

Doug Janzen is a Staff Software Engineer at Tasktop Technologies. Doug has worked in a variety of industries, from building some of the first online market research tools, to business intelligence and application lifecycle integration. His current focus is on building value stream management tools for large scale software development.

As always, we'll have ample time for questions and discussion as well. Doors open at 6:00, talks start at 6:30. Hope to see you there!
