Details
This is Vancouver's natural history museum and is home to not just the museum's mascot, the big blue whale skeleton, but also over 2 million specimens! There is a lab where you can touch and learn more about the museum's less-often displayed specimens and the research associated with them. There is an art exhibition that showcases work inspired by biodiversity and conservation. Daily films, tours and hands-on activities are also there to further enhance your experience at the museum. Here's the website that has more information on everything you need to know about this museum:
The museum is open everyday from 10 am to 5 pm. Unless you study or work at UBC, admission is not free. For an adult, it's $12. Seniors and students (with ID) is $10. There are also special rates and discounts for say a group of 10 or more people.
Everyone is responsible for paying their own admission as well as any other expenses on this visit.
Since I volunteer there, I do get a few perks that I maybe able use to give everyone who wants to visit a discount on their admission. Right now, I can take up to two people into the museum for free on two complimentary admissions. However, if more than two members of this group that decide to join me, I could try and negotiate with museum admission on our visit to split up the two free admissions evenly into discounts. I have tried it before in the past, so I'm sure it should be okay. Keep in mind though, the amount of the discount will depend on how many people we have that need to pay for admission.
Let me know if you will be bringing guests (who are not members of this group) to join us as well. If our group ends up having more than ten people, that would be something that I would need to let the museum know as it helps them in planning their activities in the museum for visitors like us.
I will be meeting everyone at the museum's entrance.
