TOPIC: CHALLENGES AND OPPORTUNITIES FACED BY THOSE OVER AGE 50 IN CAREER TRANSITION

PLAN

After a brief description of how this group came into being, participants will have the opportunity to share a bit about themselves and why they are attending the Meetup.

I will then present 8 significant issues faced by older workers in career transition along with ways to address them. These include:

1. Age discrimination
2. Technology Gap
3. Limited job opportunities
4. Skill obsolescence
5. Lack of networking opportunities
6. Financial concerns
7. Health concerns
8. Lack of Support

During the second half of the Meetup, we will have an opportunity in dyads/triads or in small groups to address concerns most salient for us and get input from others present.
