1. WELCOME & OPENING: Setting the tone and offering a rationale for Today's Meetup

Facilitator Framing
Career transitions later in life require not only connection with others, but first, reflection on what "lights us up" that offers fuel for connection with others.

2. ACTIVITY 1: Looking inwards (Pairs)
Purpose of the activity:
To help participants connect with their internal strengths, experiences, wisdom, and sense of possibility—especially during uncertain transitions.

3. MINI-TEACHING: CONNECTION WITH STRANGERS AFTER 50
Topics to be covered:

• Why social capital grows more important—not less—after 50
• The neuroscience of connection
• Strangers as carriers of opportunity
• Reframing networking as mutual visibility of light, not self-promotion
• The role of curiosity, openness, and delight in creating rapid rapport

4. ACTIVITY 2: Approaching OTHERS
Purpose of the Activity:
To help individuals practise approaching a stranger with curiosity, generosity, and presence through a guided exercise.

5. ACTIVITY 3: LIGHTENING THE LOAD
Purpose:
To help participants relax emotional or cognitive burdens around career transition and create openness to support from others.

6. CLOSING CIRCLE: OPEN RESPONSE
