Granville Island to Vanier Park and back

PLEASE READ BEFORE SIGNING UP

Vanier Park is a municipal park located in Kitsilano. It is home to the Vancouver Museum, The Vancouver Maritime Museum, The City of Vancouver Archives and the HR McMillian Space Centre. The park plays host to several of Vancouver's most popular festivals including the International Children's Festival and the Shakespeare Bard on the Beach. Once a Royal Canadian Air Force Station supply depot, the site was turned over to the Vancouver Park Board by the federal government in October 1966. The park officially opened in May 1967. What is now known as the HR McMillian Space Centre & Vancouver Museum complex (formerly know as the Planetarium) officially open in May 1968, thanks to lumber baron McMillian's $1.5 million donation.

Where will we meet? WE WILL MEET FOR COFFEE BEFORE THE PHOTOWALK AT 9:00 AT THE BLUE PARROT. It is located at the NW corner of the main market building.

If you can’t join us for coffee, we will meet you at 10:00 at the Circle Craft store and head out from there

What should I bring with me? A camera ….. it doesn’t matter what you want to use, any camera is fine.

How do I get there? For transit info....www.translink.ca. If you are driving, please make sure you have paid for ample parking The route we are taking will be just over 2 hours and return us to this area.

What can I photograph? The interesting architecture of the area known as False Creek, Vanier Park and Granville Island, the beach, amazing views of English Bay, the Burrard Street Bridge, people and their pets, boats and marinas....etc! This walk has a lot!
