Francine and Veronica arranged this tour back in January. The Fairmont Hotel Vancouver has agreed to a second one. If you attended the first one please do not sign up to do it again.
The Fairmont Hotel Vancouver, often referred to as the “Castle in the City,” stands as an iconic symbol of Vancouver’s rich history and architectural grandeur. Since its grand opening in 1939, this historic hotel has been a witness to the city’s evolution, playing a pivotal role in its cultural and social tapestry. Today’s unique photowalk and tour will provide us with insight into that history.
We will meet in front of the concierge station (near the main elevators in the lobby) at 1:45. The tour starts at 2:00 and will be about an hour and 15 minutes long.
The Fairmont Hotel Vancouver has decided on the amount of attendees. You will be required to sign a waiver to participate.
You may use your phone, or bring your camera. No tripods, flash photography, or taking photos of the hotel patrons. Any photos taken are for your personal use only and may not be used commercially in any way.
This tour involves using some stair cases and going out onto the roof of the hotel. THIS MEET-UP WILL BE POSTPONED IF IT RAINS. FHV WILL MAKE THIS CALL.
Taking transit is your best option, but there is metered street parking and several parking garages nearby, including an expensive one at the hotel.
RSVP Protocol - if you RSVP to this event and then can't make it please have the courtesy to change your RSVP so that someone on the waiting list will have a chance to participate. If you are on the wait list and can't make it, please remove your name as well.
At all times, please be mindful of yourself, your fellow photo walkers, your property, and your surroundings.
Vancouver photo-walks and its organizers are not responsible for you or your property. We are all volunteers. By signing up to attend this photo walk you understand this!
After the meetup, please share upto 15 of your best/favourite photos.
We look forward to seeing you there.
