UBC THROUGH THE LENS ARCHITECTURE AND CHARACTER

Join us for a relaxed and creative photowalk through UBC’s campus. This walk will focus on capturing the unique character of UBC’s diverse architecture—from modern glass facades and bold concrete structures to hidden design details and geometric patterns.

Some featured architectural highlights include:

Irving K. Barber Learning Centre – A blend of historic and modern architecture with a stunning glass atrium

UBC Nest – Contemporary student union building with dynamic interior spaces and natural light

Buchanan Complex – Classic brutalist architecture with repeating patterns and strong lines

RAIN … We will let you know no later than 6pm Saturday if we have to postpone. We reserve the right to cancel this event if there are fewer than 5 attendees.

Where will we meet?

We will meet at the Rose Garden. Say our hellos and then head out. We will go for coffee following. Location will be provided at the meet up.

What should I bring?

Your camera of choice. It doesn't matter smartphone, point and shoot, DSLR or mirrorless …. any camera is fine.

How do I get there?

If you are driving, there are several parking lots near by. Metered street parking is also available.

RSVP Protocol - if you RSVP to this event and then can't make it please have the courtesy to change your RSVP so that people on the waiting list will have a chance to participate. If you are on the wait list and can't make it, please remove your name as well.
