The Bloedel Conservatory at Queen Elizabeth Park

The Bloedel Conservatory is a domed lush paradise located in Queen Elizabeth Park atop Vancouver’s highest point. Tropical birds, koi fish, and over 500 exotic plants thrive within its temperature-controlled environment.

Admission is free if you have a membership to Van Dusen Gardens. If you don’t have a membership, tickets can be purchased online here

We will wander around the conservatory for an hour or so. For those interested we will go to Seasons in the Park for lunch. Please let me know in the comments if you would like to attend. I will need to make a reservation.

After lunch, we can take a walk through Queen Elizabeth Park to photograph the last of the fall foliage.

HOW DO I GET THERE: For transit info....www.translink.ca. If driving, there is metered street parking and a parking lot adjacent to the conservatory. There are several parking areas in Queen Elizabeth Park so do a Google search for parking at the Bloedel conservatory.

WHAT SHOULD I BRING? A Camera, it doesn't matter if you have a camera phone, a point and shoot or a DSLR, any camera is fine.

FYI - The temperature inside the conservatory is between 18 and 25c and has high humidity. Take this into consideration. There is no coat check. If it is cold out, try to keep your lens warm to prevent it from fogging up inside the conservatory.

RSVP Protocol - if you RSVP to this event and then can’t make it please have the courtesy to change your RSVP so we know in advance that you are not coming. Please do this a soon as you know so that another member on the waiting list can attend.
