Let’s check out the Cherry Blossom Festival in Steveston

The Richmond Cherry Blossom Festival was established in 2017 to showcase the splendor of the 255 Akebono cherry trees in Garry Point Park and to celebrate the generous donation of those trees to the city from the BC Wakayama Kenjin Kai, the Wakayama Prefectural Association. The association supports the legacy and heritage of Japanese families that immigrated to Steveston from Wakayama Prefecture in Japan.

We will wander around the festival ….. the scheduled events take place between 1:30 and 3:30.
Following the photowalk let’s meet back at the Garry Point Grill & Fish N’ Chips for a drink or snack.

How do I get there? This will be a very popular event and taking transit is recommended. For transit info....www.translink.ca. If driving, I recommend parking away from Garry Point Park and walking (or cycling in). If anyone wants to carpool or has space to take another member, please chat in the comments.

WHAT SHOULD I BRING? A Camera, it doesn't matter if you have a camera phone, a point and shoot or a DSLR, any camera is fine.....a tripod is optional. Wear comfortable clothes and footwear.Dress for any type of weather.
