SESSION TRACK:
Excel

SESSION OUTLINE:
Learn how to speed up and debug your Excel Formulas with Microsoft MVP, Charles Williams! There are three main steps in speeding up Excel workbooks:

  1. Identify and prioritize the bottlenecks.
  2. Work out why they are slow.
  3. Change them formulas to run faster.

Because there are no native Excel tools that help do this, Decision Models launched the first version of FastExcel profiler in 2001.

Although Excel does have some ancient tools for debugging formulas, modern Excel’s array formulas and Lambda formulas are increasingly hard to understand and validate. Lambda Explorer is a free Excel add-in designed to solve this problem.

This session will demonstrate speeding up workbooks and debugging formulas using some of the capabilities of Charles Williams’ FastExcel and Lambda Explorer add-ins.

SPEAKER PROFILE:
Charles Williams is a VBA and C++ developer focused on making Excel run faster and on plugging gaps in Excel capability with his add-ins. Charles founded the Decision Models consultancy in 1996 and has received Microsoft’s Most Valuable Professional award every year since 2009.
