Our January online gathering is a supportive, heart-centered space to explore how experiences with 5-MeO-DMT have impacted your life in meaningful and positive ways.
Together, we’ll gently reflect on shifts in identity and worldview, including moments that may have felt destabilizing, and share practical ways to work with and integrate these changes over time.
Whether you’ve had a recent experience and are seeking clarity, are still integrating an earlier journey, or feel called to share your story with others who understand, you are warmly welcome.
Even if you haven’t had a 5-MeO-DMT experience yourself, you’re invited to listen, learn, and ask questions in a respectful and open environment.
This free gathering is open to anyone drawn to grounding and integrating expanded states of consciousness in a safe, compassionate, and non-judgmental community setting.
Facilitators:
Co-hosted by Henry Passot, Co-Founder of Psychedelic Advocacy Network, and Peter Schubert, an end-of-life doula and enthusiastic participant in plant medicine practices.

Bridging Worlds: Zen teacher Ryushin Marchaj on Zen and Psychedelics
•OnlineOnlineREGISTER ON OUR WEBSITE to attend this Zoom event: https://psychedelicadvocacy.org/event/zen-teacher-ryushin-marchaj-zen-and-psychedelics/
After registering, you will receive a confirmation email containing information and a link to join the meeting.
Join us for a warm and welcoming online gathering with Zen teacher Ryushin Marchaj — a longtime Zen priest and physician who spent over 40 years immersed in Zen practice before feeling a strong pull toward the psychedelic plant world, especially Ayahuasca. He later trained in ayahuasca ceremonies in Brazil with Indigenous shamans.
In this intimate and heartfelt talk, Ryushin will share what led him to explore Ayahuasca and other sacred medicines more deeply, and how this path has shaped his understanding of practice and healing.
He’ll reflect on what he discovered along the way about the mind, the body, and awakening — and how Zen practice and psychedelic work can complement each other in meaningful ways, supporting our community’s values of healing, conscious exploration, and grounded, embodied practice.
Come join the conversation, ask questions, connect with the community, and explore together what it means to weave contemplative discipline and psychedelic medicine in the service of real transformation.
Bio:
Rev. Konrad Ryushin Marchaj is a Zen priest in the tradition of Zen Buddhism and a dharma heir of the late John Daido Loori, Roshi. Formerly the abbot of Zen Mountain Monastery in the Catskill Mountains of New York,
Born in Warsaw, Poland, he immigrated to the United States in 1967. He earned a Bachelor’s degree in Anthropology from Yale University in 1976 and a medical degree from Albany Medical College in 1980.
Ryushin began practicing Buddhism in 1983 and entered full-time residential training at Zen Mountain Monastery in 1992. During his tenure as abbot and director of operations, he also collaborated with liberal arts educators to integrate contemplative practices into higher education.
Since 2014, he has been deeply engaged in exploring ayahuasca ceremonies within diverse traditions, guided by several teachers. Integrating his medical and psychiatric background with decades of Buddhist training, Ryushin brings a compassionate, insightful, and down-to-earth approach to teaching.
