Elevating Your Impact: let's talk technical strategy (Dawn Richardson)
As you move into more senior engineering roles, the words "technical strategy" start being thrown around a lot. But what is technical strategy, and even if you know it, how do you turn it into execution and driving change. Dawn will share some experiences from her time as a Principal Engineer at Thinkific and personal learnings in moving skills from being an individual contributor towards becoming a technical leader.
Seamless Upgrades: How We Tackle Ruby and Rails Upgrades (Sean van)
Upgrading Ruby—or any core dependency—can be daunting for a large-scale platform. In this talk, we’ll explore how our organization approaches complex system upgrades with confidence. From dependency management and automated testing to feature flagging and canary deployments, I'll share strategies for minimizing risk, ensuring stability, and empowering teams to handle large upgrades smoothly.

- Transit: Our office is accessible via transit, the primary of which is Main St.-Terminal Station which is less than a 5 minute walk away.
- Parking: Thinkific currently has no dedicated or reserved parking spots in the building. Free street parking is limited, with the majority of on-street parking taken up by about 8:30 AM. There is paid parking on the streets and around our building.
