NOTE: All meetups are being held virtually due to COVID-19.
Topic: Making a game with Bevy
Jonathan Louie will be talking about making a game using the Bevy game engine. If you're curious to learn what Entity-Component Systems (ECS) are or how to build a game in Rust, come join us!

CALL FOR PARTICIPATION
Are you interested in presenting at the meetup? Do you want to share an interesting talk or show off a cool Rust project? If so, then come and present here at the Vancouver Rust meetups!
Here is what you will need to know if you want to present:
- Contact Jonathan Louie (jonathanrlouie@gmail.com) about scheduling either through e-mail or by sending a message through meetup.com
- Keep presentations around 30 minutes to an hour long (shorter is fine)
- Send your presentation material to Jonathan Louie (jonathanrlouie@gmail.com) through e-mail or by pull request (https://github.com/vancouver-rs/talks) at least 1 week prior to the scheduled date of the presentation.
Tips:
- Know your audience. We typically see a wide range of skillsets with varying levels of experience at the meetups, so you may want to adjust your presentation material accordingly or be explicit about the audience you are targeting.
- You may submit video presentations, but keep in mind that the presentation will be less interactive and potentially less engaging, especially if the audience is unfamiliar with the content
---
We usually study a specific topic. The meetup starts with a presentation and a discussion follows. After the presentation, we talk about Rust news. Finally, the remaining time is used for general questions, helping people out with their Rust projects, and feedback.
This is also a great place to share your experience with Rust or ask questions and get unstuck on your pet project.
Generally, anyone who is interested in Rust and being part of a community of Rustaceans in Vancouver is welcome :)
