Community Roundtable: Gender Diversity

Hello and welcome to October!

This month's Vancouver Sound Designers meetup is MON 10/28 at the VFS Cafe.

Come join us for a roundtable discussion on the topic of gender diversity in the field of sound design. The conversation is open to anyone wanting to talk about or listen to some of the current issues surrounding a lack of gender diversity, and the benefits we would gain from having more equity in the industry. We will also discuss strategies we can use to move towards this goal. We believe that diversity as a whole is a topic with a lot of depth, and would like to continue this larger discussion with further roundtables in the future, including a discussion about cultural diversity.

We would really like to encourage anyone who is underrepresented in this industry to attend and share your voice. We will ensure that this will remain a safe and open space for you to share, or just to listen. We would also like to encourage allies, and anyone who wants to learn more about being an ally, to attend. Everyone has something to offer and gain from this, and we hope you'll join us.

When: MON October 28th, 7:00PM - Roundtable will start at 7:30PM
Where: VFS Cafe, W Hastings St between Homer and Hamilton, Vancouver, BC V6B 1K6

Attendance for this is capped at 30 in order to keep a conversational feel and encourage participation, so please RSVP to this event on meetup.com if you intend to come.
