El Grito Portland serves as a distinguished celebration that honors the independence of Mexico and various Latin American nations, while simultaneously marking the beginning of the National Hispanic Heritage Month.
Each year, thousands of participants come together to celebrate the rich and diverse Latino/a/e culture, honoring traditions, our ancestors and indigenous heritage.
This free and vibrant commemoration is a testament to the strength of our communities, bringing us together through music, food, art, cultural pride and community resources provided by participant organizations.
