Welcome to the Vancouver Technical Analysis Meetup Group! Our group is dedicated to bringing together enthusiasts and professionals who are passionate about utilizing technical analysis to make informed decisions in the financial markets. Whether you are a beginner or an expert, join us to learn and share your knowledge on chart patterns, indicators, and trading strategies. This group will be part of CATA which is a Not-for-Profit organization being run by a President and Board of Directors. We have members in many of the Canadian Provinces and are looking for more members.
CATA meets on the 2nd Tuesday and 4th Thursday of each month. In a typically meeting a guest speaker will present and field questions from members. After the speaker is finished, members review the markets and discuss specific stocks. Depending on the evening and who is in attendance we look at sectors of strength and weakness, which stocks are breaking out to the upside or downside, get feedback on stocks members are interested in.
For May 2024 Chase Taylor will be presenting on May 14 while Brooke Thackray will be presenting on May 23. A typical meeting is from 8:00 to 10:00 ET or 6:00 to 8:00 MT.

About Don Vialoux
Donald Vialoux, co-founder of Tech Talk, is a past president of the Canadian Society of Technical Analysts (CSTA). Don has 45 years of experience in the investment industry, including prominent positions held at Richardson Greenshields and RBC Investments. He is the author of a daily letter on equity markets, which is available free at TimingTheMarket.ca. The Web site has recently received an average of 1.6 million hits per month from 130 countries.
Don is also the author of a frequent column on Exchange Traded Funds published at GlobeAndMail.com that combines technical, fundamental, and seasonality analysis. He is a frequent presenter on Business News Network (BNN) Television. Mr. Vialoux formerly offered advice to the Horizons Seasonal Rotation ETF (HAC). He holds the designation of Chartered Market Technician (CMT).

Canadian Association for Technical Analysis (CATA)
The Canadian Association for Technical Analysis (CATA) is a member only, educational resource catering to non-professionals trading stocks, options, FOREX, or commodities using technical analysis. The club is active across Canada and offers valuable learning opportunities through meetings with prominent presenters and group discussions. Members are free to ask questions to these presenters, during or after the presentation, to ensure they understand the presented material.

Membership
In order to attend and participate in this meeting please ensure you have purchased one of our membership options on CATA’s website.
When you just want to check out the club, the best option is a 31-day membership which costs $15. This option gives you access to the website where you can check out 4-years worth of past meeting videos and access links to and participate in the next two member only online meetings. A 1-year membership is $125.
