Welcome to the Vancouver Technical Analysis Meetup Group! Our group is dedicated to bringing together enthusiasts and professionals who are passionate about utilizing technical analysis to make informed decisions in the financial markets. Whether you are a beginner or an expert, join us to learn and share your knowledge on chart patterns, indicators, and trading strategies. This group will be part of CATA which is a Not-for-Profit organization being run by a President and Board of Directors. We have members in many of the Canadian Provinces and are looking for more members.
CATA meets on the 2nd Tuesday and 4th Thursday of each month. In a typically meeting a guest speaker will present and field questions from members. After the speaker is finished, members review the markets and discuss specific stocks. Depending on the evening and who is in attendance we look at sectors of strength and weakness, which stocks are breaking out to the upside or downside, get feedback on stocks members are interested in.
For May 2024 Chase Taylor will be presenting on May 14 while Brooke Thackray will be presenting on May 23. A typical meeting is from 8:00 to 10:00 ET or 6:00 to 8:00 MT.

BIO:
Steven Primo has been actively involved in trading the markets for over 48 years. His trading tenure began in 1977 when he was hired to work as a Floor Reporter, or "runner", on the floor of the Pacific Stock Exchange. Primo reached the pinnacle of his floor-trading career when he became a Stock Exchange Specialist for Donaldson, Lufkin, and Jenrette. As a Specialist he was responsible for making markets in over 50 stocks, a position Primo held for 9 years. Primo left the Stock Exchange floor in 1994 to focus on managing money and to teach his unique approach to trading the markets.Steven Primo, along with ProTrader Strategies, also co-developed and designed the PTS Primo Charting Platform. This innovative charting portal is different from most other trading platforms in that it has an emphasis on education and teaching traders how to trade. Many of the tools, techniques, and strategies available on the PTS Primo Charts were accumulated from Steven's days on the trading floor. Scores of students, from beginner to advanced levels, have gone on to become successful traders after being introduced to Primo's proprietary methods of trading.
Steven has also been featured in "Stocks and Commodities" magazine and is a frequent contributor to many sites such as TradingMarkets, FX Street, Forex Pros, Traders Conference and Traders Expo. His strategies are now traded across the globe in over 108 countries on 6 continents.

Canadian Association for Technical Analysis (CATA)
The Canadian Association for Technical Analysis (CATA) is a member only, educational resource catering to non-professionals trading stocks, options, FOREX, or commodities using technical analysis. The club is active across Canada and offers valuable learning opportunities through meetings with prominent presenters and group discussions. Members are free to ask questions to these presenters, during or after the presentation, to ensure they understand the presented material.
