Leo has twenty-eight years of international experience in operations, business development, strategy, finance, advisory councils and project delivery in the mining and metals industry. As Vice-President and General Manager for North America, Mining & Metals business line, he manages an operation of 700 people, overseeing projects in Canada, the USA, Mexico, Peru, Chile, Indonesia and Greece, while maintaining key client relationships with the top 10 global miners and key regional clients.

Previously, as Vice-President and Head of Global Sales & Strategy at Fluor, Mining & Metals business line, he led and negotiated deals generating over $18B in revenue and $1.0B in project gross margin across the Americas, Asia, Australia, Africa, Europe and the Middle East. He has a proven track record of growing global business in key markets and developing long-term relationships with key industry players. In this role, he was responsible for developing and implementing business line strategies, including key adjacent and vertical growth initiatives such as underground mining, critical minerals, and the incorporation of a material handling company, a wholly owned subsidiary. He has also developed and overseen major project joint ventures and due diligence activities.

Leo is bilingual (Spanish and English), with solid business acumen, and has been assigned to global locations including Santiago, Chile; Aliso Viejo, California; Lima, Peru; Vancouver, Canada; and San Francisco, California. He understands the challenges of working in international and multicultural environments.
