If you’re unsure about subscribing, you can click “Read first” on the first page to view our posts without subscribing. Although Substack may suggest upgrading to a paid plan-you dont need to upgrade to the paid version to receive our newsletter-All of our content is free.

If you already follow us on Instagram or Facebook, you can continue to check our regular meetup information on those platforms. Because Substack allows for longer posts, it will become our main platform for sharing information about future special events, workshops, etc.

Once we start posting on Substack, events will no longer be posted on Meetup. Therefore, if you only check Meetup now we urge you to please subscribe to Substack and/or follow us on social media.

Urban Sketchers Vancouver is an official chapter of a global non-profit organization, Urban Sketchers, dedicated to promoting on-location drawing and connecting people from around the world who draw on location to tell their stories of the places where they live and travel.

We host sketch meetups in the Metro Vancouver area. As an official chapter, we follow the Urban Sketchers’ manifesto.

1. We draw on location, indoors or out, capturing what we see from direct observation.
2. Our drawings tell the story of our surroundings, the places we live and where we travel.
3. Our drawings are a record of time and place.
4. We are truthful to the scenes we witness.
5. We use any kind of media and cherish our individual styles.
6. We support each other and draw together.
7. We share our drawings online.
8. We show the world, one drawing at a time.
