Evening Sketch at Farmers on 57th

Details
Farmers on 57th is a non-profit urban farm on the grounds of the Oak Care Home in Vancouver. This hidden jewel has two fields of crops and flowers as well as numerous individual community plots. This year I’ve been enjoying sketching both landscapes and compositions of plant vignettes of both. The Farmers have given permission for us to come and sketch after working hours. Last summer Urban Sketchers and En Plein Air joined to meet there and everyone agreed it was an unusual and pretty location, and that late afternoon when it's peaceful and the shadows are long was a pleasant time of day to sketch.
You will need to bring your own seating, and be prepared to take out any trash and dirty paint water with you. We will need to be respectful of the garden beds and stick to the paths. The closest washrooms are in the Marpole Community Centre at 59th and Oak.
Directions: Take the Oak or Cambie bus to 59th or 57 and walk to Heather. If driving, parking can be found on 57th, 59th or Heather street. Enter the site on foot via the lane off Heather between 57th and 59th. We'll meet in the lane at the entrance to Field 1.
Please see annotated map.
