Hi, my name's Rick. Welcome to the Vancouver, WA Paddle Boarders Meetup group! This group is open to anyone who loves paddle boarding in the beautiful waters of the Pacific Northwest. Connect with other paddle boarding enthusiasts, share tips and tricks, and plan fun outings on the water. I don't intend to be the sole provider of paddle boarding events for this group. If you want to go paddle boarding, and you'd like to paddle with other people, let me know when and where you're going, and I will try to get it posted. Alternatively, you could probably post in the discussion section. I ask that you put safety first, and be nice. Know your limits, pay attention to toxic algae blooms, WIND, currents and boat traffic. Wear a PFD, and make sure that you have a leash for your board. Wind can take your board away so fast. You should also have a noise-making device, which I believe is required by law. I keep a small compressed air horn in my PFD. I'm sure that a whistle would be fine too. Also, let's try to keep group sizes on the smaller side. Better to have multiple small outings than have 20 paddle boarders descend on one location like a flock of birds.
