Welcome to the Vancouver Camping Club!
Whether you’re an experienced camper or have never spent a night outdoors, you’re welcome here.
Our mission is simple: make camping more accessible, less intimidating, and a lot more social.
All styles of camping are welcome, including traditional tent camping, hammock camping, vanlife, car camping, backpacking, overlanding, and self-contained RVs (dry camping - no hookups).
🏕️ Our Home Base
Our regular home base is Squamish Valley Campground, where we’ll host camping weekends, workshops, BBQs, social hangs, and beginner-friendly events throughout the season.
Think of it as our Club Site - a welcoming place to meet other campers, learn new skills, relax around the fire, and use as a starting point for exploring everything the region has to offer.
Our Club Site will feature:
- Community BBQ & outdoor kitchen
- Propane fire ring
- Lounge hammocks & gathering space
- Bookable club camping equipment
- Friendly campers happy to help
While Squamish is our primary gathering place, we’ll also organize camping trips, hikes, and outdoor adventures throughout British Columbia.
🎒 No Gear? No Problem!
Just getting started?
The club has hammock systems, tree tents, traditional tents, and other camping gear available for members to access, making it easy to experience camping before investing in your own equipment.
Many pieces of club equipment may also be available for members to use for their own camping adventures outside of club events, subject to availability.
Equipment rental fees help maintain, clean, and expand the club gear inventory so more people can get outdoors.

Join the Vancouver Camping Club for The Great Canadian Hangout - three nights of camping, campfires, games, outdoor movies, hammock demos and hanging out beside the Squamish River over Labour Day weekend.
We’re keeping this one to just 15 campers, giving us a fun little group without turning the weekend into a giant event.
🏕️ $100 - Three Nights of Camping
Your weekend includes:
• All three nights and campground fees
• Private group campsite
• Campfire ring
• Covered group dining/hangout area
• Coleman BBQ/grill
• Tables and seating
• Club games and activities
• Private Joolca camp toilet & shower (NEW!)
• Outdoor movie night
• Hennessy Hammock camping demos
• Access to the Vancouver Camping Club equipment and activity areaAnd, of course, plenty of time to swim, explore, relax by the river or just hang around the fire with the group.

We’ll have two Tentsile Stingray Treehouse Tents set up for the weekend!!

These three-point suspended tents create a giant hammock/treehouse above the forest floor and can accommodate up to three people.
Treehouse Tent upgrade: +$50 per person p/night
Availability is limited, so we’ll arrange these separately with interested members.

Bring your own:

We have a limited selection of tents, sleeping equipment and other camping gear available for an additional fee. Send me a message and we’ll see what we can put together.
This is also a great weekend for newer campers who want to meet people, see different camping setups and learn from other members.
🌊 Squamish Valley
We’ll be camping at Squamish Valley Campground along the Squamish River, surrounded by mountains and forest.
Spend the weekend swimming, exploring the valley, trying a hammock, playing some games, watching a movie under the trees or doing absolutely nothing around the campsite.
Come for the camping. Stay for the hangout.
