Escape the city and spend the weekend camping with a friendly group of outdoor enthusiasts.

Whether you’re an experienced camper or pitching a tent for the very first time, you’re welcome around our campfire.

Solo campers are especially encouraged to join—we’re building a relaxed, welcoming community where it’s easy to meet new people without awkwardness or pressure.

Come for one night or stay the whole weekend!

About the Campground

Squamish Valley Campground is one of the most scenic campgrounds in the Sea-to-Sky region, featuring:

- Sandy river beach
- Calm swimming area
- Hiking trails nearby
- White water rafting nearby
- Forestry roads nearby

Squamish is only 25 minutes away for groceries, restaurants and supplies.

Camping Fees

Paid directly to the campground:

• $20/person/night
• Additional vehicles $5/night

There are no Vancouver Camping Club membership or event fees if you’re bringing your own camping equipment, food and supplies.

Need Equipment?

If you’re curious about camping but don’t own everything yet, we have a limited selection of club gear available, including hammocks, tree tents, ground tents, pads and sleeping bags.

Rental fees simply help maintain and expand the club equipment so more people can experience camping.

This is a hands-on introduction to hammock camping!

We’ll explore gathered-end asymmetrical hammock tents, suspension systems, tarps, under and over quilt insulation, and a variety of hammock camping accessories.

We’ll meet at the MEC North Vancouver parking lot (not sponsored) and then head into the park and river behind the store - a perfect outdoor setting to set up gear and experience hammock camping in a real-world environment.

Together we’ll walk through the different components, set up several hammock systems, and you’ll get the chance to lie in and experience a gathered-end asymmetrical hammock tent firsthand.

If the weather turns wet - even better! We’ll focus on tarp systems, rain setups, and how to build storm shelter tarp covers and stay comfortable in poor conditions.

After the hands-on session, anyone interested is welcome to head across the street to White Spot for a post-camp beverage and hangout.

We’ll have several adult hammock systems and a youth setup available to explore and try out.
