This is a great family-friendly trail close to Vancouver with lots of options for different level hikers.
The Seymour River Lookout features nice views from a quiet, secluded area next to a sharp bend in the river. This route to the lookout travels over several mixed-use trails shared evenly between foot traffic and bikes. Trail surfaces are generally smooth, with long stretches of gravel paths and only a few slightly rougher areas. Elevation descends steadily at midpoint along the Bridle Trail but no section is likely to be found challenging or steep. Points of interest on this family-friendly trail include an old mining cave you can walk through, an ancient brick fireplace which still stands alone, and two picnic tables at the lookout.
Street parking is available at the trailhead and along
Hyannis Drive.
