The United States have put a ban on Muslims (http://www.cnn.com/2017/01/28/politics/text-of-trump-executive-order-nation-ban-refugees/)! How can #VanTech Help?

Lawyers in New York are working pro-bono (https://twitter.com/NYCMayorsOffice/status/825478697306173443), preparing habeus corpus petitions for detainees! Tech companies across the US are looking at ways to help employees affected by this ban.

What can our Vancouver Tech Community do to help?

Let's organize Vancouver's community of professional software developers, and put our skills to use!

Tell everyone you know! Even the Prime Minister (https://twitter.com/drew_bro/status/825511888557445120)!

February 4th Idea Hack (12:00 pm - 5:00 pm)

This first idea hack will focus on bringing people together on Saturday afternoon to brainstorm ideas on how Vancouver's Tech Community can help people impacted by this ban.

This event is a catalyst to a new series of hacks that will help develop tools to help those affected. We need your compassion, ideas and energy to get this started!

We'd love sponsors, community partners, friends, attendees, newcomers, mentors, logos, cool people, etc! If you're interested in being a part of it, helping spread the word, co-organizing, whatever!

Some things we may need/benefit from having:
1.) People who can help identify potential solutions
2.) Hosting for applications
3.) Food, snacks, drinks for Hackathon attendees
4.) Gov members who can help with 1
5.) Other ideas/help/teamwork
6.) Logos to show support/involvement
7.) People to attend

Spread the word!
