VanDev: Flow Based Programming, An Odyssey

Details

In November we have our own Kim Kulak presenting on Flow Based Programming. Somewhere between UNIX pipes and Web Services, FBP involves assembling a group of black-box processes, essentially active components, into a variety of different applications. Join us as Kim shows us the current state of the technology and where he envisions it going. Following the presentation we'll have a door prize draw, round-the-room introductions, and then open networking. This is a networking event so bring your business/contact cards and a story or two to share.

About the Presentation:

An odyssey is a journey of discovery. This odyssey is the story of how I discovered Flow Based Programming. Like all good stories it has a beginning, a middle, and an end. It begins with my discovery of Structured Analysis. The middle is the current state of Flow Based Programming. The end is my vision of what is yet to come. The telling of this tale will give you a basic understanding of what Flow Based Programming is and an appreciation for why I think it will become the way of the future.

About the Speaker:

Kim Kulak has been programming computers for more than thirty years and is fully aware that he has barely begun to know how to program.
