Our meeting this month will focus on "Topics in Tech Crime". As you may have heard, recent estimates suggest that Tech Crime in Canada has doubled in the past year, up to $3B annually. It's a timely topic.

Our speaker this month will be RCMP Staff Sergeant Clint Baker, OPS NCO "E" Div Tech Crime.

Staff Sergeant Baker has been in the RCMP since 1995 and specifically in the Tech Crime Unit since 2002. He has a BSc. in Physics from the U of A and has been interested in tech for as long as he can recall. He is the OPS NCO for the Vancouver Integrated Technological Crime Unit and tries to keep abreast of the latest trends within the tech crime space. He also has an interest in programming as well - mostly in web/scripting languages such as PHP, Ruby on Rails, and BASH. Fave OS? OSX for a workstation, Linux for servers.

After the presentation, we'll raffle off a number of technical books and then adjourn to Steamworks for drinks and conversation.

It should be a most interesting talk. I hope you can make it.
