General Tech Meeting - Introduction to Linux

PLEASE NOTE: This is not the room we have been using for the past several years. Pay attention to the difference. Room 1425 is located on the ground floor.

Our meeting this month will be an Introduction to Linux. We are partnering with a computer class at Killarney Secondary School in Vancouver, to provide several short presentations on Linux to the students.

Our speakers will be:

Kim Kulak : Introduction to Computer Systems and Operating Systems

John Weintraub : Introduction to Ubuntu

Bill McGrath : Introduction to the Command Line

Iain Kyte : Introduction to Linux Security

Kim Kulak : Introduction to Shell Scripting

We will also make time for any questions the students might have.

As we usually do, we'll have a book raffle to raise funds for Vanlug, and adjourn to a local establishment for refreshments after the meeting.

If you've got a son, daughter, niece or nephew who you'd like to introduce to Linux this would a good meeting to attend.
