Computer Security with Mark Fenton

Details
Our next monthly general meeting will be held on Monday, October 17, 2016, from 7:00 - 10:00pm, in Room HC7000, SFU Harbour Centre, 515 West Hastings Street in Vancouver.
Our theme this month is security. Our presenter will be Mark Fenton. His topic is:
"A story about "Bob" and his company: The Small Widget Co"
Mark is a former 28 year member of the Vancouver Police Department and spent the last 11 years as an open source investigator assigned to the Technological Crime Unit. Mark now teaches internationally, nationally and locally to all levels of government and law enforcement on how to conduct both overt, and covert, open source investigations. He also lectures to business groups on e-fraud, brand monitoring and Internet policy.
In 2010 Mark was presented with the US Secret Service's highest external award for investigative excellence in relation to a number of high profile Internet Joint Forces Operations. In 2006 he was awarded the Canadian Bankers Law Enforcement Award for outstanding cyber-fraud investigations and has received numerous VPD investigative citations.
While with VPD Mark prevented approximately $700 million worth of loss to financial institutions across North America and continues to provide intelligence to the financial sector.
On a personal note, I have heard Mark present before. He is an outstanding speaker - highly knowledgeable and experienced. This is not to be missed.
