Windows Azure: A PaaS overview : Oliver Wirkus (MVP) - Softlanding

Windows Azure is not only offering the well-known IaaS. Besides providing 'Platform as a Service' functionality, Windows Azure can be used as a development platform too. The comprehensive set of features and services enable enterprises to build and host their business applications in WIndows Azure. This session provides an overview of those features and services, explains the types of applications that can be created and hosted in Windows Azure and describes the deployment process.

Oliver Wirkus (Microsoft MVP) is a Microsoft MVP for Office 365 Servers and Services and Senior SharePoint Consultant at Softlanding in Vancouver, Canada. An experienced SharePoint expert and software architect, Oliver has consulted for a variety of different industries and specializes in consulting for international projects. A long-standing SharePoint enthusiast, Oliver is a published, international speaker, former moderator of SPUG Stuttgart, and has been voted one of the Top 25 European SharePoint Community influencers in recent years.
