Variety that Continues and Grows ...

I think sustainable variety is what makes people feel alive, excited, vital and engaged. It’s part of what makes life enjoyable. You could say it’s variety that continues and grows. It’s variety that doesn’t become static, yet isn’t so great it becomes chaotic. It’s what nature does, in many ways.

Sustainable Variety and Proximity Thinking

I don’t think sustainable variety just accidentally happens, at least on a consistent basis. I do think there are things we can do to increase our chances of it. I’ve started some projects that provide options for creating and spreading sustainable variety. Each of these projects relates in some way to the proximity thinking (ProxThink) framework I created. I also run a Meetup group related to proximity thinking, called Proximity Thinkers LA. I’ve started a monthly meetup there called “Explore Proximity Thinking — Attend In Person or Online.” By exploring proximity thinking, you'll learn approaches for more lively thinking, living and relating, and you'll get more out of the related projects (at https://loughry.com) for creating and spreading sustainable variety. I'll also touch on sustainable variety during the 15-20 minute intro at the start of the meetup.

In pursuit of creating sustainable proximities and sustainable variety, there is no set price for this meetup. Rather, we'll use ProxRewards, also called "proxri," which are part of the proximity thinking framework and not limited to money. (See https://proxri.org for more.) We can proxri those who help us, related to the benefits (now or in the future) we gain from them as a result of this event, and/or related to our interactions with them during this event. Location, Parking, Check-in

WeWork is in the sky lobby of the red building at the Pacific Design Center (elevator button SL). We'll be in meeting room 7C. When you arrive at WeWork, check-in via the guest registration tablet at the front desk, as a guest of me, David Loughry. Bring a photo ID. There is nearby metered street parking for $2 per hour. If you park on the street or arrive via public transit, make sure you enter the red building, as the green and blue buildings might be locked.
