Vedanta Study Circle Zurich is happy to present Swami Sarvapriyananda of the Vedanta Society of New York for a one-day spiritual retreat on May 6, 2025, on the theme of “Who am I? A Timeless Vedic Perspective.” The lectures will be based on an ancient philosophical treatise, the Kena Upanishad, which is based on the spiritual experiences of the ancient Vedic sages of India.
Kena Upanishad
The Kena Upanishad is part of the Sama Veda and teaches that the ultimate reality (Brahman) and the self (Atman) are identical as pure consciousness.
“Kena,” comes from its opening word, meaning “By whom?” or “Who?” as it begins with questions about our mental and sensory experiences. Key themes that will be covered in the talks will be:
1. Consciousness as the source of all our experiences
2. Consciousness as Brahman
3. The Paradox of Knowing Brahman
4. Self Realization and liberation
