Come join friends for a relaxing afternoon/evening on the patio at the country home of Carolyn and Bob Howe, 2284 Sugar Bottom Road, NE, Solon. (Directions and map link are below. Vegan Community signs will provide guidance).
We can enjoy yard games and relaxing around the firepit.
Our firepit will be fired up and has a cooking grate-so feel free to bring vegan burgers, dogs, or s'more fixings.
Please bring a dish to share. Electricity will be available for hot dishes.

The social hour will begin at 4 p.m., followed by the plantluck at 5:00.

Due to parking limitations participants will be capped at 25. (Carpooling is encouraged).

For the plantluck, please bring:

  • A vegan side dish that provides 8-10 servings. (If you are new to veganism, the term ‘vegan’ means no animal flesh or fat, dairy, eggs, or honey.)
  • Recipes for the dishes you prepare for allergy avoidance and to share.
  • Please plan to bring a financial donation to assist with defraying VCEI expenses (suggested contribution: $5 per adult, if affordable). Children are free. Credit cards are accepted.

We will observe the following disease control guidelines:

  • Please stay home if you have symptoms of COVID-19 (fever or chills, cough, shortness of breath, etc.), are waiting for COVID-19 test results, have been diagnosed with COVID-19, of if you may have been exposed to someone with COVID-19.
  • We will be collecting attendee information (names, phone number, email address) to facilitate COVID contact tracing if needed.
  • Public interaction carries a risk of exposure to COVID-19 or other illness. Participants assume the risk upon sign in and attendance. Vegan Community of Eastern Iowa will not be responsible in the event of exposure to COVID-19, illness or other health risks.
  • To make an informed decision about your COVID-19 risk, we encourage you to read the following guidance from the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention .
