Vegan Spirituality Potluck: Veganism & Ahimsa Jay Dinshah's Wisdom
Details
Vegan Spirituality and Love Always Sanctuary invite you to explore the ethical and spiritual roots that unite veganism and ahimsa through the insightful and often playful wisdom of Jay Dinshah, the founder of the modern U.S. vegan movement. Drawing from Jay’s writings and talks, this presentation invites reflection on compassion, nonviolence, and conscious living as guiding principles for vegan life. Shared by his daughter Anne, Jay’s wisdom is offered as a thoughtful, enduring vision that continues to inspire thoughtful, compassionate action today.
Anne Dinshah is the coauthor of Powerful Vegan Messages, which brings together the ethical teachings of her father, Jay Dinshah, for contemporary audiences. A lifelong vegan, Anne spent decades as a professional rowing coach and now serves as CEO of the American Vegan Society, where she applies principles of teamwork, balance, and compassion to her work.
Program:
6 pm Potluck
7:30 pm Presentation
Venue:
We're gathering indoors at a private home with plenty of free street parking.
Potluck:
For the potluck, bring a vegan (plant-based raw and cooked foods, no animal products of any kind) potluck dish to share, your own plate/cup/utensils, and an open heart. We will have extra plates and utensils on hand. Be mindful to bring a dish versus a snack or drink so we have plenty of food for everyone.
IMPORTANT: Please bring a meal to feed 4 - 8 people versus a snack or drink so we have plenty of food for everyone.
We welcome everyone, whether you're vegan or not. In the spirit of compassion and to honor animals, we request that all food is vegan and all clothing is free of animal products. For food, that means no flesh, dairy, eggs, or honey in food. For clothes, that means no down, fur, wool, or leather. Please share your delicious vegan dishes and favorite vegan clothes with us!
