What we’re about

This is a monthly discussion group for people who want to live by the virtues of Stoicism: wisdom, justice, courage, and moderation. We'll talk about how to make Stoicism a practical foundation for everyday life.

The four cardinal virtues of Stoicism are:

(1) Wisdom: The ability to make sound judgments and understand what is good, bad, and indifferent. It involves practical wisdom and good sense.

(2) Justice: Treating others with fairness, integrity, and respect. It encompasses honesty, compassion, and a commitment to the common good.

(3) Courage: Not just physical bravery, but also inner strength, resilience, and the ability to face difficulties and adversity with reason and without fear.

(4) Moderation: Practicing self-control and moderation in all aspects of life, avoiding excess and maintaining balance.
