VegasHikers 20th Anniversary Event!

The VegasHikers 20th Anniversary Event begins at 3 PM on Saturday, when the group campground becomes available for check-in. The campground is ALL OURS! (It's off to the left as you drive in, behind a gate.) Sunset is only 90 minutes later, so please try to arrive as close to 3 PM as possible. We have reserved the Chuckwalla and Kit Fox campsites for Friday night, and that's where the festivities will be centered. You are welcome to camp on Friday night at those sites.

The plan for Saturday is to have potluck food and drinks, so please bring something to share. Around 4 PM, before we lose daylight, We'll have a handful of organizers talk a bit about what VegasHikers means to them and to the community, and we'll reminisce about some of the highlights of our 20 year history. After that, we'll have a casual evening of campfires and reminiscing

You're welcome to stay as late as you like. You can even stay overnight! We've reserved all seven group campsites. In theory, we can accommodate 350 campers and 56 vehicles. In practice, the group campsites can easily hold over a hundred cars. It's just a question of how strict the camp host wants to be. If you're able to carpool, that would be helpful. Otherwise, if needed, we'll designate a spot for overflow parking.

If you plan to stay into the evening, or to camp, please bring lighting, if you have some. At a minimum, bring your own headlamp or flashlight. If you can, PLEASE BRING FIRE WOOD.

The group sites have pit toilets, and there is potable water available.

Kids are welcome, as are well behaved dogs. We'll have multiple campfires going on Saturday evening, and some will be available for s'mores. Again, PLEASE BRING FIRE WOOD.

Surrounding the event, there will be multiple hikes and other events posted. Those will be posted separately, so check the calendar.
