Gold Point Ghost Town Annual Memorial Weekend Camping Celebration

Details
Update: There will be live music Fridays, Saturday and Sunday nights. I am told its country and rockabilly type music.
Bring cash there are no ATM Machine here. Always top off your gas tanks in Beatty NV so you don’t have to worry about gas.
Nestled in the Mojave desert, Goldpoint captures the spirit of the old west. This is a great opportunity to make new friends and explore an authentic ghost town. Rumored to have paranormal activity this ghost town might become your favorite haunt. Camping at Gold Point 2025. You can come for a night or two or all three nights. It’s entirely up to you.
There will be a small fee for us campers. The fee will be $20.00 per camp sight. It doesn’t matter if it’s a tent, RV or whatever, the fee is the same. This is not a per person fee or a per night fee just a one time per spot. You can give this money to me and I will be giving it to the town as a donation.
Friday- (some people up Thursday) Show up anytime, set up your camping equipment in one of the two fields just to the rear of the long saloon. RV's (dry camping), sand rails and Razors and such are more than welcome. Please do not go fast or kick up dust in town. Wait until you are in the desert before you kick it up a notch.
SATURDAY DAY- I will do some cast iron cooking. Anyone who want to cook and share with the campers and other visitors can do so but it is not required.
SATURDAY NIGHT- The towns residence are planning A themed party in the saloon. The theme this year for the costume party this year is American. The people up there really do it up and make it a blast. It’s pretty much like a costume dance party. Feel free to dress up in costume but costumes are not mandatory. Some will, some wont, doesn’t matter, it’s entirely up to you.
This is a weekend of being social, listening to music, relaxing, partying and having fun in an old ghost town. Most people go once, then come back year after year.
Any money spent while at Gold Point will go towards maintaining and restoring this historic town.
Goldpoint Ghost town is a really fun and unique place. The town started out in the 1800s and was called Hornsilver because of the precious metal (silver) mining going on in the area. Around 1927 Gold was found and the name soon was changed to Gold Point. Sheriff Stone and his business partner Walt own most of the town. You can see the entire history on their website www.goldpointghosttown.com
Pets- Well mannered pets are welcome. Keep in mind there are open mines and coyotes around so don't let them run off. Always clean up after your pets. Thank you!
Directions- Drive North on US 95 approximately 165½ miles, (approximately 15 miles Past Scotty's Junction). Turn Left (west) by the Cottontail Ranch onto 266. Go about 7½ miles and turn left on 774. Just 8 more miles to Gold Point.
Fill your gas tanks in Beatty before heading the rest of the way to town.

Things to do:
You can spend hours walking around the town and seeing all the cool artifacts and history.
Hike and roam around the surrounding desert if you like. There are mines scattered throughout the surrounding desert areas. Some of them are not filled in and can be dangerous so keep out, keep away and don't roam the desert in the dark.
We are about 35 miles from Scotty's Castle (may still be closed). If you want to go on a tour there. I hear it is absolutely amazing.
There is an awesome old saloon there with live music. It's full of fun artifacts and plenty of historical items.
Please remember this is their town, they own it, they are kind enough to have us visit, they allow us to party and have fun with them. We will remain respectful of others and the town at all times while
Food: This year will be whatever the saloon has to offer. You can bring your own meals and snacks as well. They have hot dogs and hot sandwiches, chicken wings, pizza, and other things at the bar.
