HIKE DESCRIPTION
A signed waiver is required for this event. Link to the waiver is at the endof this post. If you don't read this entire description, you'll probably not have the information you need to get onto the "going" list for this event.
I have specifically omitted the location of this event. Questions regarding the location will not be answered.
This hike is more challenging and more rewarding than the Zion Narrows. It's in a secluded place where few people can go. The hike requires swimming or floating to make it to a beautiful waterfall into clear water surrounded by red rocks. This hike is approximately 10 miles round trip. There is about 2000 feet of elevation gain. It's pretty steep. Sorry, but if I don't know you and I can't verify your experience by looking at your profile, then you probably won't be going.
Two of the miles of hike are over rocks and boulders, and will require walking in the water in varying depths. Some of this is like underwater scrambling. The rocks can be very slippery. The sides of the creek are covered in downed trees, which make the hike more challenging because you'll need to make it over or under numerous logs and trees.
Getting to the trail head will require a high clearance vehicle. Somebody on the hike may be able to take you, but you'll need to make the arrangements before going. If you don't have the vehicle and you can't get a ride, you can't go. You'll need to arrange a ride before you get moved to the "going" list.
There are some specific types of gear that will help to make this hike more enjoyable. Quick-drying clothing will be helpful. Neoprene socks are also helpful. Canyoneer boots or some sort of waterproof boots that have good traction. A dry bag is crucial because everything will get wet. A life vest or inner tube will help you get past the areas that require swimming. A sturdy walking stick is also advisable. People have gone without them, and people have used trekking poles, but the sticks are more suited to this type of hike. I have a collection of hiking sticks to lend out. You will also want some sort of headlamp because it's going to be dark on the way out.
There is limited space for this event.
You will not be moved to the "going" list without providing me with a signed waiver. The link to the written waiver is here:

If you have already provided a waiver to me, you do not need to provide another one.
If you have not read this entire event description, then you probably won't have enough information to go.
