Labor Day: Kraft Peak, West Gulley, Yin & Yang Slot

There is no cell service at the trailhead. We start hiking at 8:00am so plan to arrive by 7:50am and look for an old man behind a red SUV.

Everyone starts on the Waitlist. You must be on the Going list to attend.

This hike in Calico Basin is upper beginner and lower intermediate level scrambling. We will ascend to Kraft Peak via the Pegasus route, descend on the west side, scramble down a gully with large boulders and pour-overs, detour thru the Yin & Yang slot, continue down the Gateway wash in a colorful canyon, and return on the west side via Hell Hill trail.

Gear: hiking boots or trail shoes will be allowed but approach shoes are recommended; trekking poles are mostly in the way; full-finger or finger-less gloves are recommended but not required
