There are currently five spots available.
This trip is tentative and subject to weather. We will be meeting at
7am at the Cannery 3rd floor Parking structure and after carpooling has been established will hit the road at 7:15 am sharp. With minimal emergency stops on the way there, Kanarra Creek Trail head is about 2.5 hours drive time away in Utah. First stop is to be determined, probably a travel plaza. We plan on getting back at about 5pm Vegas time, if we decide to get dinner in St George.
This is a water hike through the creek bed and cannot be completed without getting wet. The trail crosses Kanarra Creek many times and eventually enters a slot canyon where you have no choice but to enter the water to be able to see the falls. The trail is lush with trees, plants and lots of greenery. Ladder has been replaced. The level of water is questionable for that time of year.
Bring snacks, water, energy snacks, spare towel (yes, you will get wet), water shoes and spare clothes (someone even wore a wet suit a few years ago...smart choice), neoprene socks (it will be cold, but we will be moving).
There are 3 sections of waterfall climbing. The round-trip length of this hike is about 4.8 miles.
The difficulty level is Moderate
Average hike time is 3.5 to 4 hours dependent on group and pictures taking pace. There are a lot of us going this time!
Cost: ensure you compensate your drivers for their services!
Weather: we will check it as day approaches and day of trip.

We will be packing out any garbage we generate and any that we find while hiking. Kanarra Creek is a slot canyon and like any slot canyon there is a very real danger from flash flooding. Weather will be checked for the area and surrounding areas for rain the day of the hike.
As with any hike, you are responsible for your own safety and well-being. Knowing your limits and proper preparation are key to a successful and enjoyable outing.
