Charleston Series: Up Trail Canyon / Down Fletcher Canyon

๐ This hike goes up Trail Canyon for 2 miles, joins the North Loop Trail for 0.5 miles, and descends Fletcher Canyon for 4 miles. The first two legs are class 1 trail. The final leg includes considerable class 2 and a few sections of class 3 with some scree, off-trail scrambling (see photo above) and a rabbit hole at Obstacle Rock (see photo below).
The route involves a car shuttle since we start and finish at different locations.

GEAR:
Hiking boots or trail shoes are required
Trekking poles and gloves are optional
You should always carry a windbreaker, warm gloves and hat for any hikes in the Mt Charleston area.
You should always carry rain gear during monsoon season.
Everyone starts on the Waitlist. You must be on the Going list to attend.
Please arrive by 6:50am; we leave at 7:00am. Meet in Santa Fe Casino East parking garage, go up ramp to 3rd floor, turn RIGHT, then right again, go half-way back toward the east facing wall, park in Section 3C. We will form carpools for the drive to the trailhead. Each passenger is asked to pay their driver $5.
