Telescope Peak is the highest point in Death Valley—and apparently we’ve decided that simply visiting Death Valley isn’t enough. We need to stand on top of it!

Starting from Mahogany Flat Campground, we’ll follow the ridgeline toward the 11,043-foot summit of Telescope Peak. Along the way, we’ll travel through pinyon pine and mountain mahogany before the landscape opens up to some seriously spectacular views: we’ll look down toward Badwater Basin—282 ft below sea level—and across toward Mt. Whitney, the highest point in the Lower 48. That’s a whole lot of vertical geography packed into one view.👀

And because one summit would apparently be showing restraint, we’ll tag Bennett Peak and Rogers Peak on the way back. Three peaks. One hike. Death Valley from the top!
