This is great trail hike with ~ 74 switchbacks. Great hike prep for hikers going to Mt Charleston Peak. You must be in hiking shape and adjusted to elevation. This area is colder then Las Vegas and there is always a chance for thunderstorms. Monson season starts in June to September. Be prepared and always bring a windbreaker. Bring at least 3lt of water, electrolytes (Gatorade, Powerade, coconut water), salt tablets, snacks, hat, sunscreen, cover up in case of rain. Always carry a first aid kid and medical emergency info in your pack.
You must be conditioned for the elevation to join this event. If you have not hiked in Mt Charleston yet, this is not the hike to join.
As with any hike, you are responsible for your own safety and well-being. Knowing your limits and proper preparation are key to a successful and enjoyable outing. Always listening to your body when it comes to elevation hikes. If at any time you feel dizzy or nauseated, you do need to turn around. One suggestion is to drive up to Mt Charleston a few days before to get acclimated and do a short hike prior to a longer route.
What to bring:
3lt of water, electrolytes, salt tablets, energy chews, lots of snacks, lunch, sunscreen, hat, comfortable hiking shoes, poles, windbreaker. Always keep medical and emergency information in your pack.
NO GUESTS, NO CHILDREN, NO DOGS (unless approved)

Please answer the three questions, when RSPV. Thank you.
- Do you read the declaimer, and do you understand you are responsible for your own well-being during this event? 2) Do you have a 4WD and how many can you take? 3) Did you read the entire event right up?
