uv: the last Python package manager...until the next one!

uv, by Astral, is the latest package manager to take a significant share from the incumbent package managers in the Python ecosystem. It's got some significant advantages over pip and poetry, especially for open source projects. We'll go over some of the basics for using uv, and then I'll discuss some of my findings when I migrated a number of Pallets repositories to uv during the sprints at PyCon US 2025.
