VegMichigan Meetup Group Rules
Welcome to the VegMichigan Meetup Group! We're so glad you're here to connect with others who share a passion for plant-based living and advocacy. To ensure a positive and enjoyable experience for everyone, please follow these guidelines:
1. Respect and Inclusivity
- Be respectful of others' opinions, backgrounds, and personal choices. While we all share an interest in plant-based eating, people are on different points in their journey and come to plant-based eating for different reasons, so approach every conversation with kindness and openness.
- Discrimination of any kind—whether based on race, gender, age, sexuality, religion, or dietary preference—is not tolerated.
2. Vegan Meals at Events
Everyone is welcome at VegMichigan Meetups regardless of dietary choices, but we ask that you order vegan options at our events. Our goal in hosting these Meetups is to introduce you to the delicious world of vegan eating, and to support restaurants who are offering vegan menu items. We also want to ensure that everyone is comfortable at the table; for many attendees, VegMichigan Meetups are the only place where they can share a meal free of animal products. If you are unfamiliar with plant-based eating and would like help making a selection, feel free to ask the server for recommendations, or reach out to the host in advance.
3. RSVP and Attendance
- RSVP: Please RSVP on the Meetup app for events to help us manage group size and meal planning.
- Cancelling: If you need to cancel, do so in a timely manner to allow others to attend.
4. Sharing Resources and Events
- Plant-Based Advocacy: Feel free to share local plant-based events, resources, or opportunities for advocacy, provided they align with VegMichigan’s mission.
- Promotions: Interested in advertising opportunities? Please contact Katie Johnson at [Katie@VegMichigan.org](mailto:Katie@VegMichigan.org) for more information. Our Meetups are not a space for self-promotion.
5. Feedback and Suggestions
We value your input! If you have suggestions for improving events or ideas for future Meetups, don’t hesitate to reach out to Katie Johnson at [Katie@VegMichigan.org](mailto:Katie@VegMichigan.org).
By following these rules, we can create a welcoming and supportive environment for all members of the VegMichigan community. Let's work together to promote health, compassion, sustainability, and a plant-based lifestyle!
Thank you for being a part of VegMichigan! 🌱
